The Hyppolite Rouge 2022 from Domaine de l’Angèle is a rich, expressive Ventoux made from 100% old-vine Grenache Noir. It bursts with ripe cherry, spice and a touch of cocoa. Aged in 600L oak for depth and finesse, this wine captures the soul of the Rhône – generous, spicy and irresistibly smooth, perfect with lamb, game or good company.
Domaine de l'Angèle - Hyppolite – 2022
Domaine de l’Angèle’s Hyppolite Rouge 2022 is a refined AOP Ventoux crafted from 100% Grenache Noir grown on 50+ year-old vines. Deep ruby in colour, it opens with aromas of ripe red berries, sweet spice and subtle cocoa.
The palate is broad and generous, with velvety tannins and a smooth, lingering finish. Perfectly balanced between fruit, spice and a touch of oak, this is a graceful yet powerful Rhône red. Serve at 16–17 °C with grilled meats, lamb, game or aged cheeses.
The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo a long maceration (35 days) in concrete vats to maximise flavour extraction. The wine is then aged for one year in demi-muids (600L oak barrels), adding texture and complexity while preserving freshness.
The vines grow on clay-limestone soils on the southern slopes of the Luberon. With sustainable HVE certification (Haute Valeur Environnementale), the estate ensures environmental respect and biodiversity.
