Bergmannhof is a young, family-owned organic winery in the heart of South Tyrol, surrounded by the vineyards of Appiano and the dramatic Dolomites. Led by Johannes and Tanya Pichler together with Benjamin, Agata and Josef, the estate combines generations of experience with a modern vision rooted in sustainability, craftsmanship and authenticity. Every wine reflects a balance between nature, intuition and precision — expressive Alpine wines with purity, structure and remarkable drinkability.
Bergmannhof is more than a winery — it is a family story rooted in the hills of South Tyrol. Located in Appiano (Eppan), surrounded by vineyards and overlooking the Dolomites, the estate is run by the Pichler family: Johannes and Tanya, Benjamin, and parents Agata and Josef. Together they shape a modern organic winery where tradition, sustainability and personality come together.
The philosophy at Bergmannhof is simple: wine should not be forced, but guided. In the vineyards, every decision is made with care and respect for nature. The estate works organically, focusing on biodiversity, balance and long-term sustainability. Gentle pruning, manual vineyard work and thoughtful cultivation allow the vines to develop naturally and express the unique character of South Tyrol’s Alpine terroir.
In the cellar, Johannes follows the same philosophy of minimal intervention. Grapes are handled gently, often without pumps, and the wines are given the time they need to evolve naturally. Many wines mature on their lees or in wooden barrels, while sulphur use is kept deliberately low. The result is a collection of wines that are honest, vibrant and full of identity — combining freshness, structure, minerality and pure drinking pleasure.
Bergmannhof produces wines that reflect both the indigenous grape varieties of Alto Adige and the contemporary energy of a new generation of winemakers. From elegant whites to characterful reds such as Lagrein and Vernatsch, each bottle tells a story of family, place and craftsmanship.
For Bergmannhof, wine is not only about the present vintage, but about thinking in generations — creating something meaningful for the future while honouring the past.
